Discovery Stem Award: Digital Maker’s Day

On Tuesday 18th December Mrs Sayer-Schofield and Mr Wright took a group of Year 11 students to Essex University to take part in a Digital Makers Day.

Students learnt how to explore coding to create interactive sculpture and visual artwork using animation, sound and digital technology.
Students worked as a team to produce an end product which they then showcased to the organisers and another two schools. They had to show good communication, teamwork and project management skills.
As a result of this Mrs Sayer-Schofield entered them for a Discovery Crest STEM award which is a nationally recognised award scheme endorsed by the British Science Association for student-led project work in the STEM subjects.
