GCSE Exam Arrangements

To all students entered for January GCSE Exams - Please Note:

The school will be open for all external examinations which begin on Monday 11th January irrespective of weather conditions. The ruling from the Exam Boards is that even in periods of extreme weather, public examinations cannot be re-scheduled. Students entered to sit exams are therefore advised to review their transport plans, taking account of weather forecasts and make appropriate arrangements – these could, for example, include staying with friends who live within walking distance of the school. If you think you may be late for the start of an examination, or are unable to get into school at all, please let us know as soon as possible by email - exams@gilberd.com or text - 07711251237 . If you miss an examination it will still be possible to sit the exam in the summer.
