London Trip

As you are aware next week is Year 10 exam week.The Applied Art exam is due to take place all day on Tuesday 26th February; however, I am proposing a research trip on this day instead.This will support the exam which will then take place in lesson times between now and Easter.
A research trip will need to be undertaken for the actual exam next year so this is good practise; in addition going on the 26th February ensures no other lessons are missed.
As this is a school trip, all students will be required to wear school uniform, cash for a travel card (£6.50) will be needed, a packed lunch or money to buy a lunch will be required and a camera would be useful if you or they have one.I am suggesting the group meet at Colchester North Station at 09.15am to catch the first off peak train.We aim to be back at Colchester North Station by 4.30pm at the latest – assuming all trains operate on time.
There will be two members of staff accompanying the group.I will be carrying the school mobile at all times, I will provide all students with this number and in return I will need their number and a contact number for you the parent/carer.
The basic outline of the day is as follows:-
09.15am Meet at Colchester North Station
09.30am (approx) Catch train to London (students will need £6.50 for this as we will be purchasing group tickets on the day).
11.00am (approx) Arrive at Liverpool Street Station.
Catch Central Line to Tottenham Court Road Station to view murals, photograph and measure up.
Break for a drink and snack outdoors.
Travel to Canary Wharf via tube viewing some of the proposed Olympic areas.
Lunch at Canary Wharf. A packed lunch is preferable.
Travel to Stratford Station to photograph, measure up and to view the Olympic site.
2.30pm (approx) Catch train back to Colchester
4.00pm (approx) Arrive Colchester
