Adult Education

We offer two IT adult education classes at the GilberdSchool, the European Computer Driving Licence ( ECDL ) and the Microsoft Office Specialist ( MOS ).

We operate on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm until 9:00pm (term time only). We run both courses concurrently and do not charge for the tuition time. The only cost to the student is the registration and test fees for either qualification.

Both courses are taught using interactive materials which offers flexibility to our students and allows for learning to be taken at pace suited to each individual.

For beginner and intermediate computer users we would recommend the ECDL qualification and for those who have previous knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office applications we would recommend the MOS qualification.

All Microsoft Office 2007 exams are currently priced at £80, learning kits are available for £85 which includes training materials. Office 2010 will be available from September 2010.

Payments for exams on ECDL courses are made when the candidate is ready to take a test. Registrations fees are paid when the candidate is registered with either The British Computer Society (ECDL). Microsoft exams will have to be paid for in advance of test. Feel free to come along to our sessions and see if either course is for you!
